About the Author-
  • Susan Leahy, MA.ABS, the Co-founder of The Freeway Guides, is a sought after speaker and facilitator. An expert in job interviewing, presentation skills and meeting effectiveness, Susan works with Fortune 500 companies, non-profits, and colleges and universities, teaching her clients how to drive powerful and effective communications to build career and life success.

Reviews-
  • AudioFile Magazine Here's a sparkling example of how packaging and content organization can make an audio lesson grab a listener's attention and improve his or her life. Though a short lesson like this could have been packaged like most single-CD programs, this one comes in a three-fold easy-to-access case with chapter descriptions that leave no doubt about what is on each track. The author/publisher also describes the supporting resources available on her company's Web site. Her down-to-earth suggestions are grouped intuitively into chapters like "Voice," "Key Messages," "Practice Talking about Yourself," "Clothes Count," "Feed the Brain," and "Use Names." The perky author, talking rapidly, compensates for her high-pitched voice with her energy, creative ideas, and desire to be helpful. T.W. (c) AudioFile 2008, Portland, Maine
  • Library Journal, 3/15/08 Designed specifically to focus on the interests and needs of commuters, the new Freeway Guides series of audiobooks features dynamic, entertaining instructions by established leaders in their fields supported by high production values. The company was cofounded in 2006 by motivational speaker/trainer Susan Leahy (The Freeway Guide to Nailing the Job Interview) and film director/producer Jared Patrick as a result of their frustration at wasting time during their daily commute on the Southern California freeways. They blended their talents and expertise to create these effective, affordable, and practical training materials tailored especially for busy people on the go. The mixed-media production includes the main instructor's presentation, supported by a variety of additional character voices and a wide range of catchy music and sound effects. The result is akin to the early days of radio plays, and the 80-minute length for each program is just about right for most listeners as they trek to and from their offices. All Freeway Guides programs are originally produced for the audio format. - Dale Farris, Groves, TX
